Father’s Day gets a CorlenScope treatment

The cool folks over at Troma Films asked me to create a poster of their new film Father’s Day. This poster is going to be used for promotion and as a competition giveaway. Not only did I do the poster but the Troma guys wanted me to do the silkscreen version as well as a limited number of prints.

The prints will be in my shop by the end of the week.

Inara The Jungle Girl Poster

This was a commission from Red Valkyrie Studious new film : Inara the jungle girl , they wanted a poster done of their film in my style.
I tried to create the scene of the jungle girls protecting Inara as the ominous shadows of danger are approaching.
This was a fun project to work on, I really enjoyed the theme. :)
Fun fact. the one request the client made was that I make all the girls breasts bigger….I of course have no problem with that. :)
Enjoy

Werewolves on Wheels artwork and Poster print

Inspired by the 70’s film ‘Werewolves on Wheels’ I decided to create this poster.
The movie is a biker/horror film.
I wanted to incorporate allot of the films themes and scenes in the artwork , for example the wax doll in the lower right hand corner of the poster is of the female character, that ‘One’ the leader of the devil cult creates, gets possessed to perform the dance of evil under the control of One , that is the character behind the werewolf.
For the silk screen poster I decided to try something different by making the dots of the positive film larger, this had a really cool effect on the final print, smaller pencil details seem to melt into the artwork, but this also made the colours in the poster more vibrant.

I really enjoyed the final result, more info on the poster can be found here : http://www.etsy.com/listing/90577586/werewolves-on-wheels?ref=v1_other_1

Santa and the She Devils

So what would the holidays be without some grind house goodness, this was a project I did with Strangekidsclub.com we wanted to create a really messed up idea of a exploitation film for the holidays, so this is what came out:

Lenny “Don’t Call Me Sugar” Lowenstein is a man of broken faith who finds himself questioning the existence of Santa Claus as he tries to make it as a jazz musician in the big city.
Santa has been possessed by a demon from Hell and that the North Pole has been overrun by monsters from the pit to make way for the coming of the Antichrist on Christmas Day.
Armed only with street smarts,a disillusioned talking reindeer with a severe addiction to alcohol named Rudy.
The duo face down the holiday horror as they make their way to Santa’s Workshop, a brothel of red-hot succubae who are eager eat our heroes alive.

I used some ref for the main character pose from the awesome stock of fellow deviant artist :

The Kiss of the Undead ScreenPrint

So here is my latest screen print, The Kiss of the Undead, this one came out really amazing , what I love the most about it, it really give the feel of the old printed comic books with its halftone screen feel. What I did differently when making this silkscreen is  I separated the black and had that made as a totally separate positive, normally when making positives for full colour silk screening each colour is offset to one another including black, but I wanted to achieve the effect of my black as almost ink lines on top of the final colour work, so to do this I had the black played out as a separate positive I thing the result shows how cool it worked.

Check out the pics, this print will be available for purchase soon.

Lost Kung Fu Film “Samurai Frankenstein”

Here is the poster art I did for this lost epic.

Never before seen cult film combines “Frankenstein” adaptation and crazy kung fu action.

OCTOBER SHADOWS , Happy Halloween V2 art entry 2011

This flyer was created by the awesome William Basso.

I finally got into October Shadows art show, which takes place this Sunday in L.A. at the Mountain View Mausoleum where they filmed Phantasm. This is a great honor for me as I have always wanted to be in this show.

So the inspiration for my art piece was to do a sequel image to my original Happy Halloween image , the story here is the succubus has resurrected the  evil candy corns and controls them with the jack-o-lantern. I wanted to try a fun approach this time, but still keeping some elements that I liked from the first image.

You can also buy a Litho print now of this artwork, check out the images for details on this print. PLUS the store button is working now, it will take you straight to Etsy, so its happy shopping time.

Here is a bit of detail info on the poster print :

The artwork was a pencil sketched and digitally coloured.

Each print ships with a handmade  and painted Strangle doll resin figure , he is featured in the image held by one of the candy corns.

Each poster is signed and stamp numbered.

The posters are Litho press printed on Curious Metal paper, the litho inks really bring out the metallic sheen of the paper. ( see the detailed images)

Dimensions are H 24.8 X W 16.5 inches  /  42cm X 63 cm.

Each poster is rolled and shipped in a sturdy postal tube.

Thankyou everybody and have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Ormon Grimsby Halloween Hullabaloo

Hi there folks, well it sure has been busy times for me with tons of fun projects on the go. One of those projects is for Ormon Grimsby’s Halloween Hullabaloo, I was asked to do a retro style poster featuring some of Ormon’s characters for his  show info on the show can be found here : http://www.mcftv.com/

So here is a modified version of the image I made for him for the website:

And this is the Poster , the text will be done by Ormon , so he only wanted the artwork, but when I designed this artwork I used some place holder text to design the image around that. The idea behind the poster is Southern Culture is been chased by the Space prince ( evil looking skeleton dude) and his minions , but Ormon comes to the rescue by building a remote controlled Santo to help save Southern Culture ….GO SANTO!

Some details about the print:

The artwork was a pencil sketched and digitally coloured, then to give it a vintage look I used the traditional hand pulled silkscreen process.

The Title and Taglines are spot varnished with a UV Varnish with added copper metallic powder.

They are limited to 36 prints
