The Monster Squad Art Entry

Coming August 6th the skies will bleed ink, paint and felt to mark the arrival of Monster Creeps, a one-night only art retrospective celebrating the twin terrors of director Fred Dekker: Night of the Creeps and Monster SquadMonster Creeps will take place on Saturday, August 6th at Dark Delicacies (www.darkdel.com) from 8-10pm and feature artists from all over the world sharing their love of two 80s classic horror films. Fred Dekker is scheduled to be in attendance and there will also be a movie screening (TBA) of one of the films  ( text from http://www.strangekidsclub.com/?p=8822 )

So Here is my entry of one of my favorite movies when I was a kid, Strange kids club was kind enough to invite me to enter a piece for this awesome show , how could I refuse. My final submission piece is a hand pulled silkscreen print on curious metal paper I also did a limited run of 30 each is signed and numbered, if you want one get it here http://www.etsy.com/listing/78451167/the-monster-squad?ref=pr_shop and hurry they are selling quickly.

So here is the final digital version

This is the hand pulled silkscreen version, I am very happy with how this one came out, the print is really beautiful.

And here is just a little progress image to show how I put this image together, thanks for looking.

Face Rip

The Fine folks at Zombie Liquorice commissioned me to do a black and white ink sketch that will be printed on a long sleeve tee shirt. The final printed shirt looks amazing.

Creeping Death – Indie Film poster commision

I was commissioned to do a film poster that would represent a Cthulhu like creature bursting through a cinema complexes double doors. I really enjoyed working on this piece from the offset of the drawing I already had the idea that there will be lots of bounce light falling onto the creatures slimy appendages.

I also did some logo treatments using brush pens to create the jittery text , I scanned them in and cleaned them up in Photoshop.

Here is the pencil artwork I started with, I did not draw in the brick work as a simple photo-texture will do the trick.

I then create a gray value artwork this I use to determine how the different elements interact with each other, this is the final important stage before I move onto colour work.

NOTE: Here is a Wiki page on info about Cthulhu : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu

Zombie liquorice Poster Commission

This was a commission job I did for the guys over at Zombie Liquorice.
They wanted a poster that featured all the femme fatales from their existing line of tee shirts.
Working with the guys from ZL was really awesome.
They even made a little teaser video that you can see over here:

Octaman Silkscreen Poster with UV Varnish

Some details about the print:

The artwork was a pencil sketched and digitally coloured, then to give it a vintage look I used the traditional hand pulled silkscreen process.

This is a full colour silkscreen print (four colour separation), printed on a 120gram Curious Metals White gold paper, this paper gives the print a slight metallic sheen.

The Title and Taglines are spot varnished with a UV Varnish with added copper metallic powder.

Dimensions are H 27.6 X W 18.89 inches  70cm X 48cm.

They are limited to 36 prints

You can get them here

Vampirella WIP

I had this doodle of Vampirella on my computer for some time, I re-sketched it in PS.

I made a cyan print out on A3 paper and re-sketched her again, also adding a few more props to the scene and creating some interest.

Next will be colour.

Mortal Kombat 9

Finally I can show and talk about MortalKombat 9 . I have been working on this project at Atomhawk Studios now for a year and bit , doing the last bit of the work as early as Jan-Feb 2011, it has been a awesome project and a great fun to be part of.

I picked up a copy of the game on Saturday and its a great feeling to see the work finally come full circle.

Here are a few picks of the concepts I did, there are a ton more but I first have to get permission to show those, but hey why not buy the art book it has basically all the concept art in there, anyways enjoy.

Night Owl Bannner

I created this banner for Night Owl Masks to use at the HMA Mask Fest.
The artwork had to incorporate some of the wonderful masks that Night Owl makes.
I really enjoyed doing this artwork even thou the deadline was pretty tight.
To see more of Night Owls amazing work head on over to his deviant page http://nightowl-ghoul.deviantart.com/
